Real Talk About the Job Market in 2025 Part 2

What You Need to Know About Adaptability, Culture Fit, Remote Work & Playing the Game

🧠 Let’s Talk About Workforce Dynamics

Even entry-level employees need to be comfortable with digital tools and platforms—period. You have to learn them. Now, let’s talk about workforce dynamics.

Companies aren’t just looking for skills. They want people who fit the company culture and who can adapt to change. You’ve got to be adaptable.

I’ve taught so many people who were just… stubborn. Stuck in their ways. They didn’t realize that they were blocking their own blessings. One wrong move—one refusal to adapt—can ruin your reputation and close doors that were wide open for you.

I just finished teaching a group recently. Half of them? I had to wish them well and move on. I couldn’t waste energy trying to drag them forward. But there was this group of moms I worked with—and I gave them everything I had. Why? Because I saw that they wanted it.

There are others I’ve worked with in the past, and honestly, I had to say: I don’t know what to tell you. You need to relearn some things.

✨ Communication Isn’t Just Talking

Ask any adult, “Can you communicate?” They’ll say yes. But can you:

  • Read a room?

  • Speak clearly about your ideas?

  • Adjust your tone depending on the setting?

I know I ramble (this video is proof—it’s probably 30 minutes long by now 😅). I try to follow a format like: here’s the problem → here’s what I did → here’s the result. But when I’m excited? I just start talking.

👀 Adaptability and Teamwork in 2025

We're talking about what’s going on in the 2025 job market, and adaptability is key.

That might mean:

  • Holding your tongue in a meeting

  • Reading the room and adjusting your vibe

  • Rolling with the punches when your role suddenly changes

  • Recognizing when your company's culture shifts, especially after a merger or leadership change

You also have to be a team player. And yeah, let’s talk about code switching.

I used to hate that term. It felt like “sellout” energy. But here’s the truth: code switching is about survival in certain spaces. Period.

You might not have to do it all the time, but you better know how to do it when it counts.

🧩 Teamwork is a Skill

Honestly, teamwork could be a whole separate video. It’s not just about getting along.

Sometimes everyone clicks. Other times? People are plotting behind your back, leaving you out of meetings, or acting shady—and you don’t know why. You’ve got to catch that energy early and be ready to:

  • Do some conflict resolution

  • Actually listen

  • Work on your comprehension, not just hearing words

How you were raised, where you went to school, the stuff you’ve experienced as an adult—it all shapes your skills. We’ve got to relearn the soft skills: communication, teamwork, problem-solving. Somebody’s gotta teach it. Maybe it’s me. 🤷🏽‍♀️

🏠 Remote Work vs. Hybrid

Now, let’s talk about working remote vs. hybrid.

Is remote work still out there? Yes.
But CEOs? They’re over it. They want people back in the office.

So for my parents, my mommies and daddies, folks who need to stay at home—have that real moment with yourself. Ask: Can I go into the office if needed?

My job is technically hybrid. I’m supposed to work Monday, Wednesday, Friday. But today is Tuesday… and I had a meeting. Thursday, I’ve got a partner meeting across town. So it’s less about set hours and more about flexibility and availability.

I was lucky—I negotiated a role where being out in the field makes more sense than being in the office. But listen:
If a company asks, “Can you come into the office?” …and you need that job?
You better be able to say yes. Don’t block your blessing.

🕒 Time Management in Remote Work

Remote roles come with trust. Companies are watching: Can you manage your time?

And let me tell you—my best friend will confirm—I hate structure. Which is wild, because I’ve got 10+ years in tech and I’m a whole entrepreneur. But I’m random! 😂

My bestie sent me a meme of Gayle going to space and said, “This is you.” Because I’m always doing something new. She just supports the chaos at this point. That’s me.

I can't do the same thing every day. I need:

  • Freedom

  • Flexibility

  • Autonomy to do my job the way that works for me

When I apply for jobs, I already know if something’s gonna drain me just by reading the description.

So if you want a remote job, you need to prove:

  • You can manage your time

  • You meet deadlines

  • You stay focused without someone hovering over you

I’m a procrastinator. I know that about myself. So I outline early and execute last minute. Whatever works.

🧾 What the CEOs Are Saying

I even asked AI about what’s next with remote work. According to a recent KPMG survey, most CEOs expect employees to be back in the office within the next three years.

Three. Years.

COVID is still here, people are still getting sick, but the companies? They don’t care. They want that office filled again. So start getting mentally prepared now.
