Level Up Your LinkedIn: Creating Content That Gets You Noticed

Struggling to create engaging content on LinkedIn? In this post, we'll dive into how to optimize your LinkedIn profile and create content that attracts

First Impressions Matter: Setting the Stage for Success

Before diving into content, I can't stress enough how important a well-optimized profile is. It's about more than just your name and title; it's about making it easy for people to connect and understand what you offer. Make it simple, friendly, and inviting for all.

  • Up-to-Date Information: Make sure your profile reflects your current position and the websites where you want people to go after connecting with you. This is your digital handshake, so make it count! Keep it fresh!

  • Customized Public Profile URL: Ditch the generic LinkedIn URL (linkedin.com/in/ehi-123-ampersand-dash-this-this-that-and-a-third). Simplify it! Create a clean, easy-to-type URL that's easy to share. This small change makes a big difference in making yourself more accessible. It's the first step to being friendly to connections.

Visual Content: Show, Don't Just Tell!

  • Profile Photo: Forget the stuffy headshot (unless that's really your style). I am really bubbly and active in my work and content, so I advocate for showing your personality! Use a photo of yourself in action, doing what you love. Show your engagement and energy! Of course, a professional headshot is still a valid choice, so pick what resonates best with your brand. If you are fun and bubbly, consider showing that to others!

  • Cover Photo: Ditch the generic business promotion or course advertisement. Instead, showcase yourself in action. Are you speaking at an event? Leading a workshop? Show a photo that reflects your work and passion. I was speaking to someone at Crypto Recruiters, and they advised this cover photo tells recruiters that you are looking for a job and not just for clients.

Showcasing Your Services:

  • Service Providers, Listen Up: LinkedIn allows you to directly showcase your services. If you offer services, add a "Services" section to your profile. Don't let this feature go to waste!

  • Add Media: Within your Services section, upload images, videos, or links to your portfolio. This is your chance to visually demonstrate your expertise and attract potential clients. Really show off what you're great at here!
